Academic Writing Program
Designed for middle and high school ELL students, academic writing program has three levels from “boosting the basics” to writing an advanced essay. The program adopts Full-Size Academic Writing for Serious Learning, Don’t Forget to Write for Secondary Grades for teaching and learning. The teacher chooses one topic for each week which includes one-hour online interaction and offline independent writing. Basic Writing Mechanics A allows students to strengthen their foundation writing skills. The course teaches the fundamentals of writing such as: sentences vs. fragments, subjects and predicates, subject-verb agreement, and capitalization. Writing Enhancement emphasizes the technical parts of writing such as comma and semi-colon placement, compound sentences, words often confused, and capitalization.
